AI in Thailand is a weapon for surveillance and control. From facial recognition targeting Malay Muslims to Pegasus spyware silencing critics, the government is using the tech to tighten its grip. Laws that are meant to protect Thai people are full of loopholes that give state agencies free rein under the guise of ā€˜national securityā€™.


We call for urgent overhaul of the Thai legal system to prevent this technology from becoming another tool of oppression. All technological governance must prioritise human rights and hold states and corporations accountable.
