Bor Bet จะตกอยู่ในสถานการณ์เดียวกันหรือไม่ เราต้องเร่งกดดันรัฐบาลไทยเกี่ยวกับเรื่องนี้! ✊🏼 แม้ว่าประเทศไทยจะไม่ได้เป็นภาคีของ อนุสัญญาปี ค.ศ. 1951 ว่าด้วยสถานภาพผู้ลี้ภัย แต่รัฐบาลจะต้องเคารพในหลักการสากล Non-Refoulement ซึ่งมีสถานะเป็นกฎหมายบังคับเด็ดขาดในกติการะหว่างประเทศ โดยหลักการนี้ห้ามไม่ให้รัฐใดๆผลักดันผู้ลี้ภัยกลับไปสู่ที่ที่จะเป็นอันตรายต่อชีวิตหรือเสรีภาพของพวกเขา

#BreakingNews Another monk! 🚨 Cambodian Buddhist monk Ven. Bor Bet was arrested and DEFROCKED by police last night in Samut Prakan! He is now being threatened with deportation, despite having an UNHCR-recognized refugee status!
⚠️The case of Ven. Bor Bet is just the tip of the iceberg! A number of Cambodian political activists were forced back to Cambodia this month, while the Thai authorities knew full well that they would be subject to serious risks of persecution upon their return. A clear example is the case of Mich Heang, a member of the banned Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), who was arrested in Thailand on Nov. 20th and delivered to Cambodian authorities at the border the next day. A Cambodian court then quickly sent him to jail over his online criticism of PM Hun Sen.
📍 It remains unknown whether Ven. Bor Bet will face the same fate, but we must keep our pressure upon the Thai government! ✊🏼 Although Thailand is not a party to the 1951 Refugee Convention, it must respect the sacrosanct international principle of non-refoulement, which forbids States to expel people to a territory where their life or freedom would be threatened.
✊🏼 The Thai government must release Ven. Bor Bet, and let him proceed to a third country!
