🤔 Ever wondered how the exploitation of women fuels the exploitation of nature?

😤 You guessed it — the violent trio of Colonization, Patriarchy, and Capitalism are at the root of it all: the exploitation of women, the destruction of nature, and the crisis we face today.

🤑 Patriarchy is the backbone of capitalism. By relegating women to unpaid domestic work, by pressuring them to supply future labor forces, and by exploiting women workers, patriarchy props up a system that thrives on endless growth and extraction — from people and from nature.

☢️ This insatiable drive for “more” has led us straight into the triple planetary crisis: climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.

❌ Colonization stole the Earth’s rivers. Capitalism scarred her forests. Patriarchy silenced her people.

✊ We cannot protect nature without dismantling the oppressive capitalist system — and its pillar: patriarchy!

🌏 All women suffer under patriarchy and bear the brunt of the planetary crisis — but those in the Global Majority are impacted the most.

🫂 As Decolonial and Intersectional Feminists from the Global South, we at Manushya Foundation know this truth deep in our bones: the Earth cannot heal while her people are still oppressed.

We champion a Decolonial Feminism that confronts the violence of colonization and imperialism — a feminism that fights racism, classism, homophobia, and ableism alongside patriarchy.

🌏🌿 On this Earth Day, we rise together, because climate justice is social justice — and the liberation of our planet is bound to the liberation of all its peoples.
