#DecolonizeTheInternet ✊ Throwback to #RightsCon 2025: Decolonising Digital Rights & Data! 


🚨 Big Tech, colonial legacies, and state power are intersecting to suppress dissent, silence resistance, and erase histories. From Palestine to Myanmar, digital platforms are complicit in oppression—profiting from engagement while muting calls for liberation.


At #RightsCon2025, as part of the ASEAN Regional Coalition to #StopDigitalDictatorship, we convened powerful voices from marginalized communities to expose the reality of digital colonialism and the fight for justice:


🔹 Nadim Nashif from 7amleh on Meta’s role in silencing Palestinian voices and the erasure of Indigenous struggles.


🔹 Ni Putu Candra Dewi from Bumi Setara on the importance of co-creation in digital rights—ensuring marginalized communities are active participants, not just subjects of policy.


🔹 Damar Juniarto from PIKAT on making decolonization a real fight for justice, not just an academic debate.


🔹 Dr. Jean Linis-Dinco from Manushya Foundation on how Big Tech serves state and corporate power, reinforcing oppression from Myanmar to Palestine.


💡 Tech platforms must be held accountable for their role in digital colonialism, erasure, and repression.


📢 We refuse to let digital spaces be used as tools of control and profit extraction.


💪 That’s why we developed the ‘Post-Western Digital Rights Manifesto’—a commitment to solidarity, equity, and justice in the digital realm.


🌍 Technology must serve the people, not corporate and state control. Together, we must reclaim the digital space as one of resistance, liberation, and collective power. 💪
