📍 กลุ่มชาติพันธุ์คือผู้พิทักษ์ผืนป่าและผู้พิทักษ์มรดกวัฒนธรรมของประเทศ แต่รัฐบาลกลับปรักปรำว่าพวกเขาเป็นผู้ทำลายป่าและผู้ค้ายาเสพติด ทำให้กลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ถูกคุกคามจากหน่วยงานของรัฐบ่อยครั้งและมักไม่สามารถเข้าถึงบริการสาธารณะขั้นพื้นฐานได้ 🙅🏽‍♀️ นอกจากนั้น รัฐบาลไทยสนใจแต่จะทำกำไรบนความทุกข์ของกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ผ่านโครงการต่างๆที่ทำให้วิถีการดำรงชีวิตแบบดั้งเดิมและวัฒนธรรมของพวกเขาตกอยู่ในอันตราย

🗣️ มูลนิธิมานุษยะขอยืนหยัดเคียงข้างกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ในไทยและขอร่วมเป็นกระบอกเเสียงเพื่อยุติการละเมิดสิทธิมนุษยชนของพวกเขา ในช่วงหลายเดือนที่ผ่านมา เราได้ดำเนินกิจกรรมรณรงณ์และล็อบบี้กับประชาคมโลกอย่างกว้างขวางเพื่อช่วยนำเรื่องราวการต่อสู้ของพวกเขาไปสู่ระดับสากล ✊🏼

✔️ ทางมูลนิธิฯได้ทำงานร่วมกับ Network of Indigenous Peoples in Thailand (NIPT) เครือข่ายสตรีชนเผ่าแห่งประเทศไทย (Indigenous Women's Network of Thailand - IWNT) และ สมาคมศูนย์รวมการศึกษาและวัฒนธรรมของชาวไทยภูเขาในประเทศไทย (Inter Mountain Peoples Education and Culture in Thailand Association - IMPECT) เพื่อตีพิมพ์ Advocacy Factsheet ในหัวข้อสถานการณ์สิทธิฯของกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ในไทย และส่งเอกสารฉบับนี้แก่ประชาคมโลกระหว่างกระบวนการพิจารณาสถานการณ์สิทธิมนุษยชนครั้งที่ 3 ของประเทศไทย ณ สหประชาชาติ (3rd Universal Periodic Review Cycle of Thailand) โดยเราได้ทำการรณรงค์และล็อบบี้อย่างกว้างขวางเผื่อให้ตัวแทนประเทศสมาชิกต่างๆออกข้อแนะนำ (Recommendation) ตามเอกสารของมูลนิธิฯเพื่อเรียกร้องให้รัฐบาลไทยแสดงความรับผิดชอบและพัฒนาสถานการณ์สิทธิฯกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ในประเทศได้จริง

✔️ ระหว่างกระบวนการทบทวนสถานการณ์การเลือกปฏิบัติทางเชื้อชาติ (CERD Review) ของประเทศไทย ณ สหประชาชาติ เราได้ทำการรณรงค์ปัญหาการเลือกปฏิบัติทางเชื้อชาติในประเทศไทยไปหลากหลายหัวข้อ รวมถึงปัญหาการเลือกปฏิบัติและความไม่เท่าเทียมต่อกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ในประเทศไทย

✔️ จากการรณรงค์ของเรา คณะกรรรมการว่าด้วยการขจัดการเลือกปฏิบัติทางเชื้อชาติ (CERD Committee) ได้นำข้อมูลและสถิติจากรายงานของเราไปใช้เพื่อเรียกร้องให้รัฐบาลไทยหยุดคุกความกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ในประเทศ!

นอกจากนั้น คณะกรรมการฯได้ออก ‘ข้อสังเกตุเชิงสรุป’ (Concluding Observations) ของกระบวนการทบทวนฯครั้งนี้ ซึ่งทางผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากสหประชาชาติได้เรียกร้องให้รัฐบาลไทยปกป้องสิทธิมนุษยชนของกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ในประเทศ รวมไปถึงการให้สถานะทางกฏหมายแก่พวกเขา และเคารพสิทธิในที่ดินของพวกเขา รวมถึงการรับประกันการได้รับความยินยอมโดยสมัครใจโดยได้ข้อมูลล่วงหน้า (free, prior, and informed consent) และจี้ให้รัฐบาลไทยลดความยากจนและความเหลื่อมล้ำที่กลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ต้องเผชิญ

#WhatsHappeningInThailand #FightRacism🚨 Indigenous peoples in Thailand are still marginalized and discriminated against - they struggle to access citizenship and their rights to ancestral lands are constantly compromised. But now, the whole world is watching - during two UN human rights reviews in November, the international community held Thailand accountable for its violations of indigenous peoples' rights! Read more on how we made this happen! 👇🏼

📍 Protectors of the forest, guardians of rich cultural heritage and equal human beings - that is indigenous peoples in Thailand. Instead, they are demonized as forest destroyers and drug traffickers, face corruption and harassment from the State authorities which makes accessing basic public services impossible for them - such as reaching citizenship! 🙅🏽‍♀️ Instead of protecting them, the Thai government puts Profit over People and gives priority to money-making of corporations - violating indigenous peoples' rights to their lands, livelihood and culture.

🗣️ We have always stood by indigenous peoples and amplified their voices to end violations of their human rights. During the last months, we have done extensive advocacy to help bring their concerns to the international level ✊🏼

✔️ Together with our partners from the Network of Indigenous Peoples in Thailand (NIPT), the Indigenous Women's Network of Thailand (IWNT), and the Inter Mountain Peoples Education and Culture in Thailand Association (IMPECT), we issued a factsheet on indigenous peoples' rights to inform Thailand's 3rd UPR, an important UN human rights review, and did extensive lobbying to make sure that recommendations from the factsheet are used to hold Thailand accountable - and eventually to implement them to achieve a real change on the ground.

✔️ We addressed issues such as racial discrimination and land rights of indigenous peoples in our Joint Shadow Report for Thailand's CERD review - a human rights review focused on the elimination of racial discrimination.

✔️ Thanks to our advocacy and lobbying, the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD Committee) used our data and our words during the review to denounce the Thai authorities' efforts to demonize indigenous peoples!

The CERD Committee also issued a comprehensive outcome of the review, so-called "concluding observations". It urges the Thai government to protect the rights of indigenous peoples by recognizing their indigenous status in national legislation, ensuring respect to their right to land, including the right to free, prior and informed consent in matters that concern them, and to reduce poverty indigenous peoples face.
