#JusticeForJack 🚨 2 Years Later, Still No Justice!

🎉 Congratulations to the Lao regime! Today marks the 2nd anniversary of your cowardice. Of your fear of a young man with a keyboard. Of your failure to silence the truth!

April 29 is not a day of pride —It is a reminder of your violence, your lies, your impunity.

🇱🇦 What happened? On 29 April 2023, Anousa “Jack” Luangsuphom, a 25-year-old Lao democracy activist, was shot in the mouth and chest at point-blank range in a Vientiane café.

His crime? Daring to demand democracy.

Daring to speak out on platforms like Laos Drama and

Driven by Keyboard.

Jack survived. But justice did not.

❌⚖️ Two years later — the investigation has gone nowhere.

Authorities deflect with lies about “romantic” or “business” conflicts.

Meanwhile, suspects like Lan Nanthavong walk free.

No arrests. No accountability.

Just a government terrified of its youth.

🇺🇳 And today, 29 April 2025, the irony is brutal. Laos is under review at the United Nations Human Rights Council, for its 4th cycle Universal Periodic Review (UPR).

But how can you speak of human rights when you shoot those who defend them?

✊🏽 Jack is not just a survivor — he is the symbol of a generation rising against dictatorship.

His voice, his courage, his defiance — live on in every Lao who refuses to be silenced.

♾️ At Manushya Foundation, we have stood by Jack since day one.

We launched #JusticeForJack to demand truth, combat disinformation, and push for justice.

And today, we carry Jack’s case to Geneva.

We will not let the UN forget.

We will not let the Lao regime hide.

Laos cannot whitewash its crimes behind donor-friendly promises.

Not while activists bleed.

Not while Jack’s story remains a scar on your record.

We will not let the Lao regime erase his courage.

We demand justice.

We demand the truth.

We demand freedom for Laos.

Join us. Share his story. Raise your voice.

Because if they can shoot Jack and get away with it, none of us are safe.
