#Pal€stine 🍉 ‘We No Longer Study’: Despite the ‘Ceasefire,’ Gaza’s Children Continue to Face Education Crisis Amid Ongoing Genocide!

🇵🇸 As the world celebrates the “International Day of Education” on January 24 each year, millions of children around the Globe continue to face immense challenges in accessing education. This is especially true for people facing genocide such as the Pal€stinian people. ‘|sr@eli’ settler colonial brutality is not limited to murder and destruction of infrastructure. It also involves attacks against the people’s livelihoods, dreams, and morale, including the act of systemically undermining children’s opportunities to receive quality education.


🏫 Many schools in Pal€stine have been destroyed by ‘|sr@eli’ attacks, while others are used as shelters for refugees, leaving a dire shortage of safe learning spaces.They have spent the past year, and more, hiding, surviving, running for their lives, while G4za was going through a genocide. Even in times of so-called ‘peace,’ Pal€stinian children still endure the repression of Israel’s illegal occupation, as if they are in an “open air prison.” Aside from having to pursue their studies whilst experiencing ongoing, complex trauma due to being faced with loss and violence from a young age, the risky journey to school itself poses yet another barrier to young Pal€stinian students. For example, in order to reach school, they must face numerous checkpoints, causing delays and immense psychological stress. 


💡 Despite the dire circumstances, hope still shines in the hearts of these Pal€stinian children and their families. They continue to dream of a day when they can learn in a safe environment and build a better future for themselves, free from colonization and illegal |sr@eli occupation.

 

✊🏻 On this International Day of Education, we all have the power to make a difference and stand in solidarity with Pal€stinian children for their collective liberation—whether by supporting projects for children in Pal€stine, advocating for the right to education, or spreading awareness about the issue.
