#StopDigitalDictatorship šŸ’—šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ How does Digital Dictatorship threaten the safety of Women and LGBTQIA+ communities?

#StopDigitalDictatorshipĀ šŸ’—šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ Learn more about the intersections between the experiences of womenā€™s, LGBTIQA+, and those of other marginalised communities with the issues of Digital Rights in ASEAN countries in the ā€˜spotlightsā€™ of our Thematic Report!Ā

šŸ”ˆāœŠ In our latest thematic report, "Dawn of Digital Dictatorship: Weaponizing the Law Against Online Speech in Southeast Asia," we explore these issues in depth. We believe this is important because marginalised communities are, the majority of the time, underrepresented. Our conscious focus on marginalised stories and perspectives is our way of decentralising and decolonising the narrative!

šŸ—£ļøšŸ“¢ Our findings highlight a pressing need for change. It's time that people of all levels in society push for policies that truly represent and protect everyone, including historically marginalised groups. Will you stand with us in this fight to make the digital world a fairer place for all? Let's come together to dismantle digital dictatorships and champion equal online opportunities

šŸ“ŠHow do we do this? Knowledge is power! We must strengthen ourselves with knowledge of the systems, so that we can understand how they work, and thus fight back effectively! We know that powerful, impune governments, corporations, and technological systems might scare you. We do not blame you! But to dismantle these oppressive systems and protect both our online and offline freedoms, we must face issues head on - and this includes through learning as much as we can.

šŸ“˜šŸ” The report includes detailed sections addressing these issues and challenges at the end of each chapter for each country, providing in-depth analysis and insights. For example, find an overview of how marginalised groups such as women and the LGBTIQA+ community are disproportionately affected by Digital Dictatorship, both as a result of intentional discrimination as well as systemic obstacles. You will then also find detailed ā€˜Intersectional Gender Lensā€™ spotlights in each of our ā€˜country chaptersā€™ addressing intersectional narratives for each specific country context.

āž”ļø Read more on our report:Ā bit.ly/ThematicReport1Ā šŸ“ššŸ” We've gone the extra mile, examining case studies, legal frameworks, and the socio-political landscape across ASEAN countries to provide a comprehensive understanding of digital dictatorship. Our findings not only shed light on the current state of digital freedoms but also offer recommendations to address these pressing issues.šŸ“Š
