🚨 #INJUSTICE #SAVEChana #saveจะนะ #ม็อบ6ธันวา64 👉 มาดูหลักฐานตำรวจใช้ความรุนแรงกับประชาชน! #PoliceViolence จนผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านสิทธิฯจากUNถึงกับต้องแสดงความกังวลผ่านทวิตเตอร์! #WhatsHappeningInThailand


⚠️ ตำรวจใช้กำลังเข้าสลายการชุมนุมกลุ่มชาวบ้านจะนะ จ.สงขลา กว่า50คน หลังออกมาต่อต้านโครงการนิคมอุตสาหกรรมจะนะซึ่งเป็นโครงการที่จะส่งผลกระทบต่อวิถีชีวิตและสิ่งแวดล้อมในถิ่นบ้านเกิดของพวกเขา! Speaking truth to power is not a crime!


📍 วันที่ 6 ธันวาคม ที่ผ่านมา สมาชิกชุมชนจะนะกว่า 50 คนถูกตำรวจจับกุมขณะชุมนุมโดยสันติหน้าทำเนียบรัฐบาลเพื่อเรียกร้องให้พลเอกประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา นายกรัฐมนตรี รักษาสัญญาที่ให้ไว้เมื่อปีที่แล้วว่าจะยุติการก่อสร้างเมกะโปรเจคนิคมอุตสาหกรรมใหญ่ในภาคใต้ สมาชิกในชุมชนรวมทั้งสตรีและเยาวชนจำนวนมาก ใช้สิทธิประท้วงอย่างสันติตามกฏหมายเพื่อเรียกร้องให้นายกรัฐมนตรีอนุญาตให้ชุมชนทำประเมินสิ่งแวดล้อม (Strategic Environmental Assessment – SEA) กับโครงการดังกล่าวเพื่อรักษาวิถีชีวิตและสิ่งแวดล้อมของพวกเขา! แม้ว่าชาวบ้านจะได้รับการปล่อยตัวในช่วงเย็นวันต่อมา การเข้าสลายการชุมนุมอย่างรุนแรงและจับกุมพวกเขาเพียงเพราะพวกเขาออกมาพูดความจริงและเรียกร้องความยุติธรรมเป็นสิ่งที่ไม่ถูกต้อง! โครงการนิคมอุตสาหกรรมจะนะสร้างกำไรบนหลังของชุมชน และจะส่งผลกระทบอย่างมากต่อการดำรงชีวิตของชาวบ้าน รวมถึงความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพและสิ่งแวดล้อม ที่แย่ไปกว่านั้น หลายครอบครัวจะต้องถูกขับไล่ออกจากบ้านเกิด ทำให้พวกเขาสูญเสียวิถีชีวิตแบบดั้งเดิมของพวกเขาไปตลอดกาล!

✊🏼ทางมูลนิธิมานุษยะขอเรียกร้องให้ พลเอกประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชารักษาสัญญาที่ให้ไว้กับชุมชนจะนะและหยุดทำกำไรบนความทุกข์ของประชาชน! ถึงเวลาแล้วที่รัฐบาลไทยจะต้องปฏิบัติตามคำพูดที่เคยคุยโวเอาไว้ว่าจะเป็นแชมป์เปี้ยนแห่งการพัฒนาทางธุจกิจอย่างยั่งยืนในเอเชีย ด้วยการการเริ่มเคารพและปกป้องสิทธิมนุษยชนขั้นพื้นฐานของประชาชน #BizHumanRights เรารู้สึกเบื่อหน่ายและเหน็ดเหนื่อยกับการพูดเสแสร้งและคำโกหกหน้าตายของรัฐบาลไทยต่อประชาคมโลกว่าจะพิทักษ์สิทธิฯของประชาชนผ่านแผนปฏิบัติการระดับชาติว่าด้วยธุรกิจกับสิทธิมนุษยชน (National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights) อันไร้ความหมาย!


🚨นอกจากนั้น รัฐบาลไทยต้องปฏิบัติตามพันธะกรณีที่มีต่อกฏหมายสิทธิมนุษยชนระหว่างประเทศ ด้วยการเคารพเสรีภาพในการแสดงและสิทธิในการชุมนุมอย่างสันติของประชาชนตามมาตรา 19 และ 21 แห่งกติการะหว่างประเทศว่าด้วยสิทธิพลเมืองและสิทธิทางการเมือง (ICCPR) รวมไปถึงGeneral Comment No.37 ของคณะกรรมการสิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งสหประชาชาติ นอกจากนั้น ประเทศไทยยังได้รับข้อแนะนำ(Recommendation) กว่า 18 ข้อเกี่ยวกับการรับประกันเสรีภาพในการแสดงออกและอีก 14 ข้อเกี่ยวกับการเคารพสิทธิในการชุมนุมโดยสันติระหว่างกระบวนการทบทวนสถานการณ์ของสิทธิมนุษยชน ณ สหประชาชาติ (Universal Periodic Review) เมื่อวันที่ 10 พฤศจิกายน ที่ผ่านมา

⚠️ Unfair & Violent arrest of more than 50 Chana community members peacefully protesting against the construction of the government industrial mega project in Songkla, that will badly impact their lives and the environment! Speaking truth to power is not a crime!


📍On 6 December 2021 evening, 50+ Chana community members have been arrested while they were peacefully protesting in front of the Government House, calling on Prayut Chan-o-cha to keep his promise made a year ago to #SaveChana from capitalist investors building the industrial megaproject in Songkla, Southern Thailand! The community members, including many women and youth, rightly exercised their right to peaceful protest, urging the Prime Minister to let them conduct a community-led SEA (Strategic Environmental Assessment) to save their livelihoods and the environment! Even though the villagers have been released in the evening of 7 December, it is unacceptable to arrest people for simply speaking the truth and asking for justice! As of today, the mega project puts profit over people: it will tremendously affect communities' livelihoods, biodiversity, and the environment! Worse, many families will be evicted from their land, losing their traditional ways of living!

✊🏼 We urge #Prayut to keep his promises and to put People & Planet over Profit! It's time for the Thai Government to #SaveChana - to truly and sincerely walk their talk of being the #BizHumanRights champion in Asia! We are sick and tired of government officials’ hypocrisy and lies to the international community to save their faces! Enough of #Thainess! As of today, the National Action Plan on Business & Human Rights (NAP-BHR) is meaningless!


🚨 The Thai government must also comply with its international human rights obligations and guarantee people can peacefully protest and have the freedom to express their concerns when they are faced with injustice! As a reminder, Thailand must uphold #FreedomOfExpression as guaranteed by Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), and of the International Covenant on Civil & Political Rights (ICCPR) - and must also protect our right of peaceful assembly as enshrined in Article 21 of the ICCPR and in General Comment No. 37 of the UN Human Rights Committee. On 10 November 2021, Thailand received 18 UPR recommendations to guarantee our freedom of expression and accepted only seven of them. It also received 14 UPR recommendations calling for the respect of freedom of peaceful assembly, and the government accepted only three of them.
