🏳️‍⚧️💙💖🤍Why is it important to celebrate #TDOR and how can we support transgender people? ✊🏻

💡Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is observed every year on November 20 to honor the memory of Rita Hester, an African-American trans woman who was cruelly killed on November 28, 1998. She was stabbed 20 times to death in her own apartment two days before her 35th birthday. She was a victim of #HomophobicViolence.⚠️

📝Accordingly, we honor and pay tribute to Rita and those lives that have been lost in acts of #TransphobicViolence and discrimination around the world. No one is safe until every transgender life is safe!

🆘There is still a lack of legal gender recognition among LGBTIQ+ people. It leads to discrimination against them in school, in the workplace, as well as in access to the justice system, law, and healthcare. — Best - Founder and Executive Director of Young Pride Club🏳️‍🌈✊🏻

💫"Trans don't have to prove themselves to anyone."

- Families will accept us if we study well. Friends will accept us if we are beautiful. Society will accept us if we are successful. Then what about the rest who are not met with these standards?

🔈We don't need to prove ourselves to anyone. We are human beings like everyone else on this planet. Frustration and failure are common things that can happen to anyone. — Risa, Trans Model and Activist💃🏻✨

🔍Transgender people are people! No one deserves to be euthanized because of hate for being transgender. They make their choices, they are proud of who they are, they are not wrong, but some people who hate and infringe on one another's human dignity are wrong. - Panan, Tiktoker / Co-Founder of Young Pride Club🏳️‍🌈💫

#WeAreManushyan ♾ Equal Human Beings✊🏻

🚨As we remember and honor the victims of transphobic violence, Manushya Foundation urges the Thai government to legally recognize the rights of transgender persons and provide them with sufficient protection from transphobic violence. 📝

💫We will always stand in solidarity with transgender people! We will continue to work alongside the trans community to ensure that every trans individual, including from the #marginalized communities, is treated equally. #Transgender people should have an equal right to live freely from stigma and discrimination based on their gender identity. ✊🏻✨

📢 How can you help? – Educate yourself on transgender issues and raise awareness about them among your friends and family. We can help raise the visibility of the transgender issues that they face through their experiences, and by advocating for the issues of prejudice, discrimination, and violence that harm the transgender community.
