World Children Day: A generation at risk: The climate crisis through children's eyes

🌏Today we are celebrating World Children’s Day. As COP29 is currently taking place, let’s discuss the impacts of climate change on children.
🚨Globally, over 1 billion children are at extreme high risk from climate-related events, including floodings, heatwaves, water scarcity and air pollution and hundreds of thousands of children die every year due to the impacts of climate change. If nothing is done, more children will die!
🗣️Despite their unique vulnerability to climate change, children’s voices are still missing in climate change decision-making.

📣Climate justice requires a child-centered approach to climate change mitigation and adaptation! We must protect our children today to preserve their tomorrow. Let’s make sure child welfare is at the heart of climate action.
