#WorldMentalHealthDay đ§ 10th October is World Mental Health DayâŚ
đâŚitâs a day to remind us to check in with ourselves about our #MentalHealth and overall #Wellbeing, as well as to deeply consider what these terms exactly mean.
đŹ To put it as simply as possible in our own terms, mental health holistically relates to how balanced your brain and mind functions are, and how this relates to your ability to operate healthily in society. It is interconnected to our definition of wellbeing, which describes a state of being #Physically, #Mentally, #Spiritually, and #Emotionally well. Nevertheless, we want to take the opportunity to clarify that as with all definitions, the definitions of âmental healthâ and âwellbeingâ are subjective. There is no obligation for any of us to subscribe to any single definition of these terms. Take what resonates, and leave what doesnât!
đŤśWe need good mental health for good overall wellbeing! There are many ways we can work to improve our mental health, including by staying physically #Nourished, by working to #BePresent, and by engaging our brains in stimulating activities to keep them active. Additionally, when we are feeling mentally âunhealthyâ or âunwell,â we must make sure to seek - and accept - the help we need. Whether it be through seeking formalised #MentalHealthcare because itâs what works best for you, or self-soothing in the comfort of your own privacy, or engaging in the kind of #CommunityCare that makes you feel safe, there are many different ways to seek mental #Healing. There is no one-size-fits-all approach!
đď¸Aside from prioritising our mental health, we must always make sure to remember how it is just one part of functioning as a balanced, healthy human in our society. Connecting with community, caring for our environment, #SelfAcceptance, finding a #LifePurpose, and nurturing our relationships with others, are all part of building wellbeing for all - #CollectiveWellbeing.
